Mark Virkler's picture

Are you distressed about the condition of the nation? Are you wondering if there is any hope? Are you feeling like there is nothing you can do? Well, here are a few thoughts for consideration.

John Adams, the second President of the U.S. said: “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Revival is the ONLY HOPE for our nation! Let's join together to make it happen.

Invited Into His Presence to Minister Before Him

Mark Virkler's picture

New CLU course

I began serving in leadership of various churches at a young age. A few years into my ministry journey, the Lord taught me a vital truth that has radically changed my life and my understanding of ministry. He began to show me in the Scriptures how all of the ministry we do for the Lord, flows out of our ministry to the Lord.

Which of These Four Places Do You Gaze as You Worship? ONLY ONE Is Correct! by Jeff Duncan

Mark Virkler's picture

Dr. Mark Virkler introduced me to the term "throne room worship." Though I have done what throne room worship is, I had never specifically termed it as such. Recently I was at a seminar where Mark taught briefly on throne room worship. This was a 3 day seminar at Singing Waters Ministries where I am the worship leader.  He asked this question. “During worship, where are you looking?”  After people gave a few responses, he summed it up by saying, “We can be staring at the lyrics on the screen, or at the back of the person’s head in front of us, or we can be looking to the Lord, fixing our eyes on Jesus, coming into His throne room with all of Heaven and the angels and saints.”

How I Experience Life-Giving Music 24/7 by Kirsten Himmelberg

Mark Virkler's picture

I use any worship or soaking music that “speaks” to me.  I need to “like” it.  I don’t think it matters what a person uses as long as they like it  and it worships the King rather than your wounds and problems.  Some worship music seems to be more geared to issues people face rather than the Lord and I avoid them because they weigh me down. If I don’t like it when the volume is up, my spirit doesn’t seem to like it in the subliminal volume (barely audible) either and I get agitated. I have downloaded tunes I like on my iPod for when I am out.  I have also used tunes off of YouTube. I avoid tunes that sing about the wounds we get as I do not want to worship my wounds but worship the King.  I like stuff like the Elevation worship links.

Worship from a Place of Connection

Mark Virkler's picture

This blog and journaling are from Pastor Shawna M. Diehl, a doctoral student at Christian Leadership University.

Worship is a high priority at the church where I pastor.  In fact, I served for many years as a worship leader before planting Church on Fire. We have been blessed as a church to feel a strong sense of the presence of God as we gather for worship. However, lately something has seemed off.  I thought it was just me until one of our leaders brought it up at a meeting. I know that the people in our congregation love the Lord and were worshipping Him, but maybe the Lord was trying to lead us to a deeper understanding of worship.  So I asked Him about it, “Papa, something seems off in our worship experience. Can You help me to understand what we are missing?”
